What is a jockstrap?
A jockstrap has three parts: a wide waistband, a supportive front pouch and two elastic straps that run under the buttocks back to the waistband. There is no fabric at the back. It is often simply called a jock.
Where does the jockstrap come from?
The jockstrap was created in the 19th century as athletic underwear that holds the front in place during exercise. For decades it was part of sportswear, and in gay fashion it became a classic and a symbol of confidence. Today brands like ADDICTED make jockstraps first of all as stylish, sexy underwear.
Why wear a jockstrap instead of regular underwear?
- Airflow. With no fabric at the back, a jockstrap is light and stays cool.
- Support. The front holds well when you run, train or cycle.

How to wear a jockstrap properly
You put a jockstrap on like normal underwear: the waistband sits at your waist and the side straps run under your buttocks. The straps should not roll or dig in, and the front should fit snugly. For everyday wear under jeans, choose a soft cotton jock; for the gym, a sporty model with a wide waistband; for the club, mesh or a bold colour. For a party, many guys pair a jockstrap with a harness or a mesh top.
Jockstrap vs thong vs briefs
A jockstrap leaves the buttocks completely bare, with only two straps at the back. A thong has a narrow strip of fabric at the back. Briefs cover the buttocks fully, and boxer briefs also cover part of the thighs. If you want the most freedom at the back and firm support at the front, go for a jockstrap.

What size jockstrap do I need?
Size is based on your waist measurement. Measure over bare skin, keep the tape flat and never pull it tight. ADDICTED jockstraps fit close to the body, so if you are between two sizes, size up. Most models come in XS to 3XL, some also in 4XL and 5XL.
